Spirituality Ministry

The Spirituality Ministry provides the parish community with an opportunity to grow educationally and spiritually, to update and review matters of faith and religion. This Ministry will work collaboratively with all other Ministries to discern education needs and to provide corresponding education opportunities.

CENTERING PRAYER GROUP

Are you looking for a more personal relationship with the Lord?  We invite you to spend one hour a week with us in Centering Prayer.  The focus of Centering Prayer is the deepening of our relationship with the living Christ.

Centering Prayer is a practice of silent prayer that prepares us to receive the gift of contemplative prayer, prayer in which we experience God’s presence within us.  It adds depth of meaning to all prayer. The practice of contemplative prayer dates all the way back to the Desert Fathers in about the 3rd Century AD.  We are associated with Contemplative Outreach founded by Fr. Thomas Keating who has brought the ancient practice of Centering Prayer to the modern world.  We are ecumenical and welcome all.

Come join us for Centering Prayer at St. Dominic Mission during the high season, October through mid-May, in the Chapel, 9:00 a.m. Saturday mornings.

ROSARY DEVOTIONS

Rosary Devotions are Tuesdays, 5:00 p.m., in the Chapel, mid-October through mid-May. It takes approximately one half hour of our time and, as Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta once said, "We must not underestimate the power of prayer and the difference it will make in our world." The Rosary, with the Chaplet of Divine Mercy immediately following, focuses prayer on the needs of our parish community, personal intentions and, as Our Lady of Fatima asked the three young children to do, to pray for peace in the world.  As Archbishop Fulton Sheen once stated, “The power of the rosary is beyond description.”  Contact Stephanie Shangraw.
